Tendeurope, our SaaS platform for centralizing European public tenders

European public tenders scattered across countries, each in its own language

Tendeurope was born from a need identified through someone close to us who was actively searching for public tenders for their business. In Europe, public tenders are published on TED (the European platform), but also on a multitude of national and regional portals, each in the language of the country concerned. As a result, they were losing a considerable amount of time manually monitoring dozens of different platforms, often in languages they didn't speak. For a company looking to bid beyond its borders, the problem isn't limited to manually monitoring numerous sources. There's also a real risk of missing out on opportunities simply because they weren't spotted in time. Looking at what already existed, we realized that:

• Many platforms focus on public tenders from a single country, which doesn't solve the problem for people working across broader markets.
• None (to our knowledge) offered a translation system. This was particularly problematic, as it meant searches were limited to tenders written in the same language, causing users to miss out on a large number of opportunities.

This observation is what pushed us to develop our own product. We wanted to create a simple SaaS platform that would bring together a large number of European tenders, while removing the language barrier.

Our solution: a SaaS platform that centralizes, translates, and filters

Based on this observation, we built Tendeurope, a combination of "tender" and "Europe" to reflect the European market. Tendeurope brings together, in a single place, tenders from TED, national portals, and other European sources. The platform uses artificial intelligence to automatically and comprehensively translate opportunities.

Currently, Tendeurope aggregates more than 21,000 active tenders from 12 different countries (with France and Germany being the most represented). Among these tenders, more than 97% are currently translated. This translation allows users to search, using keywords or filters, uniformly across all translations, which avoids unnecessarily missing out on interesting opportunities and ensures they only receive tenders that are truly relevant to their business.

To further reduce manual searching (and therefore the time spent looking for tenders), we've also introduced a personalized alert system. Tendeurope will send you timely notifications as soon as interesting opportunities arise.

Aggregating and cross-referencing highly heterogeneous data was a technical challenge

The main challenge for Tendeurope was building a system capable of aggregating data from very different sources. Each national portal presents data in its own format, its own structure, and its own publication frequency. Centralizing and cross-referencing this data with translation and the filtering system therefore proved to be extremely technical, but it now allows us to show each user only what truly matches their business.

Designing an architecture capable of handling this volume of heterogeneous data, while maintaining a reliable matching system, was at the heart of the technical work. The platform's performance is now very high, despite the significant amount of data cross-referencing involved.

There's a free 14-day trial to let every company test the system's relevance before committing. We've had a number of early users test the platform, and their feedback has helped us keep improving it.
